Amenli is an insurance technology startup building smart, reliable digital solutions for the insurance industry. We are looking for a highly motivated and autonomous Backend Developer to join our growing team. As a core team member, you will play a key role in building scalable infrastructure, developing APIs, improving system performance, and delivering a stable, high-quality platform.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic and backend infrastructure.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs to support product features and integrations.
- Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of existing systems.
- Write unit, integration, and load tests to ensure code quality and stability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
- Manage priorities and tasks in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Rapidly prototype, iterate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure best practices in code quality, security, and maintainability.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and asynchronous/event-driven architectures.
- 2+ years of professional experience with Python.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Django.
- Experience with Django REST Framework is a strong plus.
- Solid experience developing, testing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Good understanding of the full application development lifecycle.
- Experience with Git (branching, merging, version control workflows).
- Familiarity with Celery or other task queue systems.
- Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, EBS, RDS, and SQS.
- Strong team spirit and collaboration skills.
