About the Role:

Dunes Construction is seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Senior Technical Office Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team at the Waslet Dahshour project site in 6th October City. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in preparing shop drawings, mechanical systems coordination, and BOQ development, with a deep understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire fighting systems in building projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review mechanical shop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire fighting systems in accordance with design specifications and project requirements.

  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.

  • Develop and update mechanical BOQs and material take-offs based on IFC and shop drawings.

  • Ensure mechanical works comply with relevant codes, standards, and quality requirements (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.).

  • Provide technical support to site teams, including resolving design-related issues and responding to RFIs.

  • Participate in design coordination meetings and provide input for mechanical-related construction methodologies.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of method statements and material submittals.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, drawing logs, revision tracking, and coordination records.

  • Support procurement by providing timely and accurate material quantities and specifications.

  • Monitor and review subcontractor submittals and ensure alignment with project requirements and standards.


Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 4–5 years of proven experience in a Technical Office role within the mechanical construction field.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, with hands-on experience in preparing and modifying mechanical shop drawings.

  • Solid knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ASTM, etc.).

  • Strong skills in BOQ preparation, material take-offs, and cost estimation.

  • Familiar with BIM coordination tools (Revit, Navisworks, or similar software is a plus).

  • Competent in using MS Office, especially Excel, for quantity tracking and reporting.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical acumen in mechanical systems integration.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
