Job Summary:
The Import Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing the importation process of goods, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipment Coordination: Manage international shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and process all necessary import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
- Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with customs regulations and liaise with customs brokers and authorities.
- Vendor Communication: Communicate with suppliers, shipping companies, and freight forwarders to arrange transportation and resolve any issues.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team for timely receipt of goods.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control import costs, including freight charges, customs duties, and taxes.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve logistical issues, delays, or discrepancies in shipments.
- Data Analysis: Analyze shipment data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, shipping companies, and internal teams.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on changes in import regulations and international trade laws.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of imported goods, coordinating with the quality control team as needed.
- System Management: Utilize logistics and inventory management software to track shipments and inventory levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience of 2-3 years (minimum) in import logistics, supply chain management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of international shipping and customs regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
