Expected Job Role
Shop Drawings Preparation & Review:
● Develop and review structural and
architectural shop drawings in
compliance with project specifications
and standards.
● Coordinate with design consultants to
resolve discrepancies and ensure
constructability.
Quantity Take-Off & BOQ Preparation:
● Prepare accurate quantity take-offs for
civil and structural works.
● Assist in preparing and verifying bills of
quantities (BOQs) for procurement and
billing.
Material Submittals & Approvals:
● Prepare civil material submittals,
compliance statements, and method
statements.
● Coordinate with suppliers and
manufacturers to gather technical data
for approval.
Project Coordination:
● Coordinate with site execution teams to
ensure technical compliance and
construction feasibility.
● Collaborate with other engineering
disciplines (MEP, Architecture) to avoid
design clashes.
Technical Documentation:
● Maintain and update technical
documentation, drawing registers, and
project logs.
● Ensure all documentation is in line with
company and project quality standards.
Planning & Scheduling Support:
● Provide input to project planners
regarding civil work timelines and
sequencing.
● Monitor actual progress vs. planned
schedules and highlight discrepancies.
Cost Control & Variation Analysis:
● Identify potential variations and
provide technical justifications for
change orders.
● Support in cost estimation and impact
analysis related to design changes.
Compliance & Standards:
● Ensure all civil works adhere to local
codes, international standards, and
project specifications.
● Support QA/QC engineers in
implementing inspection and testing
plans.
Required Years of Experience
● 4-6 years of experience in Civil
Engineering
Technology/Technical Focus
● Excellent user for MS Office
● Experience with Excel-based BOQs and
estimation software
● Proficiency in AutoCAD, other
architectural design software.
● Solid understanding of construction
sequencing, site constraints, and
constructability.
● Understanding of building systems
integration, including structural,
electrical, mechanical, and plumbing
design elements.
● Basic knowledge of sustainability
principles and green building standards.
● Previous exposure to construction site
activities and ability to troubleshoot
design implementation on-site.
● Knowledge of Egyptian building codes
and regulatory requirements.
