T.H.E Architects, Planners & Civil Engineers, Inc. is a premier architecture, planning, and civil engineering firm in the Middle East. We are currently seeking a talented Senior General Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial information to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances.
General Ledger Management:
Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including recording, reconciling, and adjusting entries.
Ensure the integrity of financial data and accurate posting of transactions.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial adjustments.
Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
Provide support in analyzing budget variances and recommending corrective actions.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Supervise and review accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee the reconciliation of accounts.
Process Improvement:
Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance.
3:5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proven experience with financial reporting, general ledger management, and budgeting.
Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
