Position Overview:
The Director of Infrastructure is a senior leadership role responsible for the design, stability, security implementation, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance of SiFi’s infrastructure and reliability operations. This role oversees the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team and all infrastructure operations, ensuring high system availability, robust security controls aligned with Cybersecurity Department requirements, full compliance with Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) regulations, and cost-optimized use of systems and licenses.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute SiFi’s infrastructure and reliability strategy aligned with product growth and innovation.
• Lead the SRE function to enforce monitoring, alerting, automation, and incident management best practices.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
• Establish and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks.
• Lead incident response for critical production issues, ensuring minimal customer impact and rapid resolution.
• Conduct production readiness reviews and post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Define and manage SLAs, SLOs, and error budgets; ensure system performance meets or exceeds targets.
• Develop and enforce robust access control processes; ensure system access is authorized, secure, and reviewed regularly.
• Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Department to align access controls and infrastructure security with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure infrastructure operations comply with SAMA regulatory controls and serve as primary infrastructure contact for regulators, ensuring timely reporting and transparent cooperation
• Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, and Cybersecurity teams to close regulatory observations and audit findings promptly.
• Ensure timely provisioning and de-provisioning of access for all systems and users.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance documentation and evidence for audits and inspections.
• Own and optimize the budget for infrastructure, systems, and software licenses.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor management, license optimization, and efficient resource utilization.
• Monitor and report on infrastructure spending to ensure optimal ROI and cost efficiency.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure infrastructure supports secure, reliable product delivery.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex production issues, ensuring timely resolution and cross-team collaboration.
• Manage relationships with cloud providers, infrastructure vendors, and license suppliers; ensure SLA adherence and value delivery.
• Prepare and deliver reports to the CTO, Executive Team, and regulators on system availability, incidents, compliance status, access controls, and cost performance.
• Communicate proactively with internal functions about infrastructure initiatives, risks, and issue resolution.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing SRE and infrastructure team; set clear career paths and performance expectations.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and alignment with SiFi’s values: Customer Centricity, Product-First Mindset, and Data-Driven Excellence.
• Track and meet clear reliability and cost KPIs: (e.g., >99.95 % uptime).

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, SRE, or cloud operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience with payment systems or financial services infrastructure preferred.
  • Proven track record mentoring engineering teams on reliability and infrastructure best practices.
  • Proven expertise in designing, operating, and scaling secure, high-availability cloud-native and hybrid environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SRE principles, observability, ITSM practices, and cost management for infrastructure and licenses.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and managing system access controls aligned with security frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, optimizing costs, and negotiating vendor contracts.
  • Deep familiarity with regulatory frameworks, including SAMA, and experience cooperating with regulators and internal compliance functions.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
